Jessica Savage-Hanford has a BA Hons in English Literature from the University of Cambridge and a M.Sc. in Social Anthropology from University College London, where her thesis focused on the idea of “expectation” amongst Catholic and Anglican congregants in two London-based churches. After graduating she studied in Tokyo and later worked in Warsaw as a magazine editor and Polish-to-English translator at the Adam Mickiewicz Institute. In the summers of 2013 and 2014 she was based in Kakamega, Kenya and Mbarara, Uganda working for a NGO to provide East African secondary children with improved school resources. From 2014-2016 she was based in Spain living and working in Bilbao, Huelva, Cadiz and Granada. At present, she is the General Manager of “OgniskoPolskie,” a Polish cultural club in her native London.
